Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Magariños Bookkeeping, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit magarinosbookkeeping.com, complete our Bookkeeping Health Check, book a consultation, subscribe to our emails, or contact us.
It applies to information collected through this website and related communications. It does not govern the confidential client records we handle under a signed engagement agreement. Those records are covered by the confidentiality terms of that agreement and by the safeguards described in Section 8.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details. Name, email address, phone number, and business name when you submit a form, request a quote, or book a call.
- Bookkeeping Health Check responses. Your answers to the seven diagnostic questions and the resulting score. We use these to prepare for your consultation.
- Scheduling information. Details you enter when booking through Calendly, including your selected time, time zone, and any notes you add.
- Messages. The content of emails, WhatsApp messages, and voicemails you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data. IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and time spent on the site.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Small files placed on your device to keep the site working and to understand how it is used. See Section 6.
We do not ask for Social Security numbers, bank credentials, or financial account details through this website. If you ever receive a request for that information through a web form claiming to be from us, do not respond and contact us directly.
How we use your information
- Respond to your inquiry and prepare a customized quote.
- Deliver your Bookkeeping Health Check results and discuss them during your consultation.
- Schedule, confirm, and follow up on consultations.
- Send educational emails, updates, and offers if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services and this website.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share information only with service providers that help us operate, and only to the extent needed to perform that work. These currently include:
- AWeber: email delivery and list management.
- Calendly: consultation scheduling.
- Our web host: site hosting and security.
- Intuit / QuickBooks Online: accounting software used in client engagements.
We may also disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or court order; to protect our legal rights or the safety of others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, in which case we will notify you.
Email and text communications
If you subscribe or request your Health Check results, you consent to receive emails from us. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-out requests promptly, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.
If you contact us by phone or WhatsApp, you consent to receive replies through that channel. We do not send automated marketing text messages. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
Transactional messages, such as appointment confirmations or replies to your questions, may continue after you unsubscribe from marketing email.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function, and may use analytics cookies to understand which pages are useful. We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
Global Privacy Control. Where required by law, we treat a browser-level opt-out signal such as GPC as a valid request to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. Since we do not sell or share personal information, no further action is needed.
How long we keep information
- Inquiries that do not become engagements: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not email you again.
- Health Check responses: up to 24 months.
- Client records: for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and professional recordkeeping rules, generally at least seven years after the engagement ends.
How we protect your information
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encrypted transmission of website data, access controls, secure document exchange for client files, and multi-factor authentication on business accounts.
As a provider of bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping services, we maintain an information security program consistent with the expectations that apply to financial service providers under the FTC Safeguards Rule.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you send information to us at your own risk.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
- Request a copy of that information.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion, subject to legal and recordkeeping exceptions.

- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
